The older version of this codec was available in Microsoft Store for free with this long name HEVC Video Extensions from Device Manufacturer, but it is not available for free right now.

After downloading the HEVC Microsoft package, double-click the HEVC.Appx file to install the addon or extension into your computer. The version of this package is 1.0.32022.0.

Note:

  • The computer should be connected to an active internet during installation, to allow for online verification of the package’s integrity and safety and to download missing codec 0xc00d5212 from Microsoft’s website.
  • This file will download and install missing codec into windows 11 or windows 10 even if you have not logged in to Microsoft Store or linked the Microsoft account to your computer.
